This Years Fake Tan Efforts

For the past few years i have been attempting to take the edge off of my very pale skin by using fake tan to add a little bit of colour. I do not want to be bright orange, i don't even want a real tan as i don't want to be as orange as my hair so i have to be very picky with the fake tan i use.

I will always use fake tan over putting myself in the actual sun because as a fair skinned, natural red head the sun and me do not go well together, i get burnt and then go back as white as i started out. Therefore i like a tanner which develops so i can stop at the shade i want to be and not end out too dark. I have heard a lot about the St. Tropez fake tanners and everyone also says that it isn't too orange and in my experience with the Gradual Tan, i liked the colour i ended up with so this year i thought i would try a different product so i bought the Bronzing Mousse and i love it.

I have been doing my tan a little differently this year, i have actually been using a scrub before i do the fake tanning to exfoliate my skin, shaving my legs (not my arms), using a mosituriser so my skin is baby soft, leaving my skin for a day and then applying the Bronzing Mousse before i go to bed. I leave my skin because the scrub and products i use have oils in them and the oils don't work with the tan, it will make it look streaky. I do it before i go to bed so it has time to develop and in the morning i wash it off.

With a mitt it is super easy to apply, i just do it in long, circular motions on my arms and legs, avoiding my elbows, wrists, knees and ankles which i lightly brush over once i've done the rest of my tan and to avoid harsh lines i use a moisturiser where usually i might get patches. I keep track of the amount of product i use on each section of my arms and legs so that i can use the same amount of product on the other arm or leg to get an even colour. I have to say it is a bit of trial and error with this product but i do love it and i will stick to this all year. If you are looking for a fake tan this is definitely a good one and is worth the amount of money it costs which is £20.50 and the cost of the mitt. I think it is worth spending more money on fake tan because the colour is always a lot better and it always goes less streaky, obviously there are still going to be some streaks and patches because it depends on how you apply it.
