In 2020, there were reportedly 2,095 billionaires on Earth, with a calculated total net worth of $8 trillion. Of all global billionaires, 71 per cent are self-made and only 29 per cent have inherited the wealth. Over $567 billion has been collected by the 10 richest people in the world in less than a year.

The top 10 wealthiest people in the world account for $1.1 trillion. Country-wise, China dominates with the most number of billionaires at 1058, followed by the US (696), India (177), Germany, the United Kingdom and Switzerland at over 100 each. 
By continent, Asia accounts for 51 per cent of the billionaires.

10. Amancio Ortega



Amancio Ortega Gaona is a Spanish billionaire businessman. He is the founder and former chairman of Inditex fashion group, best known for its chain of Zara clothing and accessories shops. He is the second-wealthiest person in Europe after Bernard Arnault.

In 1975, he inaugurated his first Zara store with his wife Rosalía Mera. Ortega holds 60% of the Inditex group. The Inditex group comprises brands Zara, Massimo Dutti, Oysho, Zara Home, Kiddy's Class, Tempe, Stradivarius, Pull and Bear, Bershka and has more than 92,000 employees. 


9. Sergey Brin



Sergey Mikhaylovich Brin is an American computer scientist and Internet entrepreneur. Together with Larry Page, he co-founded Google. He also cofounded Alphabet Inc. with Larry Page and also created PageRank.

He financed the alternative energy industry to find wider sources of renewable energy. He also invested in a major offshore wind power development to assist the East coast power grid. Brin was also an early investor in Tesla. Brin invested $4.5 million in Space Adventures, the Virginia-based space tourism company. Brin was also engaged in the Google driverless car project. 



8. Larry Page



Lawrence Edward Page is an American computer scientist and Internet entrepreneur. He is best known as one of the co-founders of Google along with Sergey Brin.

He is also a strategic contributor in the Opener startup which is developing aerial vehicles for consumer travel. Page is an investor in Tesla Motors. He has invested in renewable energy technology, and with the assistance of Google.org, Google's philanthropic arm promotes the adoption of plug-in hybrid electric cars. 




7. Larry Ellison



Lawrence Joseph Ellison is an American business magnate, an investor who is a co-founder, the executive chairman and chief technology officer of Oracle Corporation.

He controls 35% of software giant Oracle.
Ellison financed $1 billion in Tesla. The investment got him three million shares and a 1.7 per cent stake in the company. 
Ellison is heavily invested in real estate.
Ellison owns tennis courts, ranches, stretches of beach.
He also invested in Theranos in 2006.

Warren Buffett runs Berkshire Hathaway, which wholly owns GEICO, Duracell, Dairy Queen, BNSF, Lubrizol, Fruit of the Loom, Helzberg Diamonds, Long & Foster, FlightSafety International, Pampered Chef, Forest River, and NetJets, and also owns 38.6% of Pilot Flying J;[4] and significant minority holdings in public companies American Express, The Coca-Cola Company, Bank of America, and Apple.

Mark Elliot Zuckerberg is an American media magnate, internet entrepreneur, and philanthropist. He is known for co-founding Facebook, Inc. and serves as its chairman, chief executive officer, and controlling shareholder.

Zuckerberg is Facebook's largest shareholder by far. 
He currently holds over 400 million shares of Facebook. Facebook inc also owns WhatsApp, Instagram.
He invested in those companies that focus on the development of artificial intelligence and software like Vicarious, Walk, Asana.

Bernard Jean Étienne Arnault is a French billionaire businessman. He is the chairman and chief executive of LVMH Moët Hennessy – Louis Vuitton SE, the world's largest luxury goods company. He is the richest person in fashion, surpassing Zara's, Amancio Ortega.

France's richest person is the chairman of LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton, the world's largest maker of luxury goods. He handles about half of LVMH, which had revenue of 53.7 billion euros in 2019. It sells products including Louis Vuitton leather goods, TAG Heuer watches and Dom Perignon champagne. Arnault has invested in Netflix and Blue Capital and also took a major stake in French food chain Carrefour. He has also invested in Boo.com and a variety of other online ventures, as well as buying Princess Yachts outright.

Bezos has made a wide variety of investments through Amazon; Bezos Expeditions, his venture capital firm; Nash Holdings LLC, a private company he owns; the Bezos Family Foundation; and his fortune. 

Bezos invested $190 million from his cash flow during a Series D funding round for EverFi. The billionaire invested 10 million dollars into the 3D printing company MakerBot. Airbnb also received a Bezos investment of $112 million. Bezos Expeditions invested $100 million in Grail. Bezos invested $37 million in Uber’s Series B funding round. He also invested in Google and Twitter.
