I've been loving Estée Lauder lately, I really love their foundations, night creams and mascaras.
I also wanted to try this lovely looking day cream after seeing their dreamy ad (sometimes I'm a sucker for classy marketing...).
Admit it, who doesn't want to look this refreshed?
The packaging is beautiful. Like all Estée Lauder products, it's sleek, hygienic, classic, fresh looking, and with a gold lid. I was attracted to the blue color of the product.
The smell is, well, nothing special. It mostly reminds me of 2009 when I tried a 2 euro daycream from Aldi once in a phase when I curious to see if their products really were as good as expensive brands (answer: no they weren't and I felt like I was loo refreshing products). Basically, it smells like synthetic ocean scents.
The cream is supposed to be oil free, but with a SPF 25 filter, it still looks very shiney on my skin. It's also quite thick and suffocating, so I can't wear it underneath my makeup. Even if I just apply it to my neck and decolleté, it keeps looking shiney and it stays feeling greasy and slippery to the touch. My fingers feel siliconey after touching myself.
I finally tried it underneath my makeup but what's the point of using heavy SPF filters underneath makeup? Plus, I blot my makeup a lot, so I can't really tell if the product makes me sweaty or gets blotted away. My face certainly doesn't feel better than without this product. It does feel like a nice treatment at the time of applying, but again what's the point if it feels greasy and awkward afterwards?
So, I'm giving it points for layout and SPF factor, but that is all. I'm giving this one a 6.
